Jamie Dionne
Jamie is a singer / songwriter living in Grand Rapids, Michigan. With a knack for mixing genres to create a unique sound, she loves how the crossover can bring people together from all walks of life.
A product of 90’s hip hop and R&B, Jamie first fell in love with lyricism from studying the sleeves of her CD’s; reading along as she listened to the music. Her early music inspirations spanned from artists like Biggie, Etta James, Melissa Etheridge, Tom Petty, TLC and En Vogue; a variety that reflects her songwriting today.
“To feel music is to really listen. Music is therapy. Love, loss, joy, regret, abuse, forgiveness, hope, grit, fantasy, gratitude, sorrow; songwriting accepts it all and makes it beautiful.”
Jamie released her first album, Keep it Alive, in 2014 - one month before the birth of her daughter Charlotte.
Green Sofa Sessions, launched in 2019, as a way of bringing the local music community together. Artists gather on the sofa, much like a therapy session, to create, connect and share it with the world. Green Sofa Sessions is about inclusivity and imperfection. A simple mic and video capture an original song written that night or a fun twist on a classic song.
